| Thank you
voters of District 61. It has been an amazing six
months, each day bringing new energy experiences and
introductions to great people. I am especially
grateful for all the volunteers, many whom I knew
and many whom I have come to know during this
campaign. To know that people are willing to
dedicate hours, days, weeks and months of their time
to help me win, was purely inspirational. I
will be forever grateful for your sacrifices,
confidence, and belief in our opportunity for a
victory. I would also like to acknowledge my
opponent Lauren Life and her supporters for running
a positive campaign, allowing Lauren and I to focus
on service to our district. I realize this has
been a difficult experience for some, as Lauren and
I have shared acquaintances, friendships, and
community involvement, with many of you. I look
forward to serving the communities of the 61st
district and being a voice in Hartford that reflects
your concerns.
Thank you for
your support.

May 19,
2008 marked the 30th anniversary of my
father, Matt Conway Sr.’s passing. While I
reflected on how much I missed my father over the
days leading up to May 19th, it was a reminder of
who I am and what I am doing.
My father taught me and my five brothers and
sisters what it means to be a family member, what it
means to be a parent and what it means to be a part
of a community. How he taught us, along with my
mother, was not through his words rather through his
actions. My father passed away when I was just 14,
but his actions as a parent, a role model, and an
active member of the community are forever in me.
Through his actions, he taught us about respect,
character, and hard work. Whether he was attending
a parish council meeting, painting the walls of the
school, delivering non-perishables to needy families
or spending weekends helping refurbish homes for
adopted families, he included us in those
activities. While it may have been the last thing
we wanted to do at the time, he did it because he
realized how it would shape who we are and what we
become.
This is why I originally got
involved in the community just after moving to
Suffield in 1991 and the reason I am ready to serve
this community as your State Representative.

Comptoller Nancy
Wyman Endorses Conway for the 2008 General Assembly
Elections

"Matt Conway is the best
choice for the voters of
Connecticut's 61st
district, because he has
financial and fiscal
experience to help control
Connecticut's tax dollars. I
have the utmost confidence
in Matt's ability to think
outside of the box in terms
of analyzing budgets and
making cuts where spending
is unnecessary, while at the
same time finding new ways
to develop efficient
spending plans that will
make sense to most
tax-payers. Matt has the
passion, experience,
integrity, and education to
be a valuable leader in
protecting taxpayer's
dollars and the analysis of state
spending. Matt is not
coming to Hartford to fix
the system. Matt is coming
to Hartford to change the
system."

Suffield on the Green
is always a GREAT weekend event about
family, community and friendship. The
event is coordinated by the community
organization
Friends of Suffield. Every year
they do a phenomenal job at organizing the
event. Many community organizations,
businesses and residents from Suffield and
surrounding communities participate in this
annual September event. This year was
no exception. While Saturday's weather
reports presented a challenge for the
organizers fortunately everything worked out
and both days were fun-filled, eventful and
extremely enjoyable. Thank you
Friends of Suffield for once again a
successful weekend.

East Granby deserve. |
